Perfect, theres not a problem getting the 68a. Its the earlier model thats the problem. I believe the last guy i was talking to had a 1999 mzchine and if i remember he had a obsolete inpower model 53 and are a bastard they don't interchange with anything. 68a is still in production and you can get a new on on ebay for as low as 160.00

Your bud has a 1999 CDS eh, that's encouraging. I wonder if I really take care of this setup... will 1 engine swap and 1 transmission swap down the road get me to 15,000 hours on my CDS. That'd be sweet.

I'll start heat proofing all my engine electronics and plan some proper maintenance later this spring.

I personally own a pto that's a 2000 with just over 200k and 10, 301 hours and still runs great. It's my backup when i got it it was dubbed unreliable by the company I bought it from. The thing that the steamgenis have up on all the other ptos is remote/stand alone stainless wastetank. Which gives them an advantage over others when it comes to longevity

Changing out the wastetank on your machine is far more difficult than mine. I pulled out and reinstalled the wastetank on frankinstien to change a blown vacuum hose to the salsa unit it took less than 2 hours from start to finish. 4 bolts, 3 wire connectors and a vacuum hose and it slid right out. My wastetank was removed to service equipment behind it because yours is made of aluminum, sooner or later will have to be removed to replace

What’s the longest hose run you’ve cleaned at with your pto and what’s the lift set at? And is there a limit from your knowledge on taking that machine to the max on recovering the water? I’m not concerned too much on the cfm. I’m sure that’s good. I’m just wondering how good the wand keeps that bite on carpet with long hose runs with the hose full of water

With frankinstien ive not gone past 175' when im at 175 i four to the door 2-75footers and go the next100 foot with 2-50s i carry 250 ft on the reel(75,50,50,75) the longest run t ever made was 325' 3-75s and 2-50s. Virtually all my runs are eighter 75 or 125 and at 125 a four to the door 2-50s not because its really necessary. It's more of a show.( and i let the customer know that im doing to get the most vacuum possible just for them) as far as vacuum settings goes i spin a roots 47 @ 3000 rpms and vacuum relief is set at between 15&16 with 75' of hose laying open on the ground and machine on high, vacuum guage reads between 13&14 im purposely using a 50gal wastetank instead of a 110 because of the way i clean. Using a rotary and a drag wand it important to reach max vac as quickly as possible where as a conventional wand it is better to have vacuum reserve . The 50gal wastetank pumps down to 16" much much quicker than a 110. In the time it takes to touch the wand head down on the carpet frankinstien jumps from 14 to 16" in that instant. He was built among other things to reach maximum vacuum in minimum time. Without the chart in front of me i believe that frankinstien produces 380-400 cfm@ 15-16" of mercury. don't use a conventional wand. Only rotary for cleaning (with emulsifier) and drag wand for rinse( with acid rinse) "Two timin Dwaino does every carpet two times"
