The doghouse over the driveshaft and power pack in our new/used rig with the CDS 4.8 allows a lot of heat into the van. So much so that it feels like it is 0ver 110 degrees when driving in the middle of May. I can only imagine what that will be like in July if left unaddressed... I suppose I can just use some makeshift materials to fill gaps in the front of the doghouse and stuff the large opening in the rear of the doghouse. I am wondering if others have had this issue and found particular materials or whatever to be useful in remedying it, or is my setup missing something and it should be more perfectly sealed?

Sorry guys, I assumed there wasn't a cover since it was just a big hole when I first looked. Turns out the cover was off and somewhere else in the van from when the seller was tinkering with things under the doghouse the day I bought it. I put it back on and it looks like there will only be very small gaps where engine heat can come in once I screw it in place and tuck the gasket in.
