Does your machine really need a fuel pump?

I'm not a professional mechanic but after about 20 minutes of me trying to get it primed the fuel pump quit coming on when I hit the ignition key. It appears to be dead now. However, I did not confirm if it was still getting 12v.

I would make a joke about this, but I'm pretty sure now is not the time. Sorry for your frustration!

That's a good one Kenny!

In fact, i did mean purchasing a used vortex as a joke.

Been there, done that and got the tshirt good buddy. It was a nightmare as well.

No more used vortex's for me please.

Thank you for your empathy regarding my frustration. I have strong faith that when one door closes another will open.

You can snag a reasonably price tm on the used market….van and all.

Yup!

I might even pull the trigger on a good used machine (very low hours) with van tomorrow.

The price is right and it's turn key ready to go make money. But, what I really want is a new SteamAction Nike. It's new, twice the $$$ and does not come with a van. And, I'll essentially be on vacation for a week or ten day's while waiting on shipping, install, etc...

I don't know which way to go on this. Do I wait for what I want and pay much more? Or, get what I need today?

What would Jesus do?

Can those CDS machine be installed into a long wheel-base hightop van?
Depends on the van most all the pto's (hydramaster, cleanco, butler )only fit chevy express or gmc savana vans with 6 or v8 engines im not aware of any that fit sprinter or ford transit. vortex and butler make some that fits i think Isuzu and Isuzu type box trucks. Im not very familiar with their products vortex also makes a smaller unit but i think it only fits express or savana.

I am hoping I can establish consistent enough business by next year to finance a brand new van and tm. I think I'll get a new Hydramaster CDS 4.8 since I am already familiar with its operation and it is such a time tested machine. With 2 of the same truckmounts I imagine I can house a lot of replacement parts and get very familiar with the maintenance and repairs. I'd use the brand new one as my main machine and keep the one I have now as young as I can to be an effective backup for many years.

I read a lot of threads on different forums and facebook groups and a small majority of folks said again and again the Hydramaster CDS is one of the simplest to repair and maintain, and most reliable machines out there. And really cost effective for what it does too. Do some folks here find that to be true of the CDS machines?
Hydramaster CDS and Cleancos are very reliable. I've had several of both, still have a 2000 4.2 CDS as a back up and love it for townhouse complexes where parking is at a premium.
